Technology Centre

| Hyderabad, India - The inauguration of the Global Technology Centre at Hyderabad, India was done on the auspicious day of March 8, 2006 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Mark Gliebe, President and COO, Jon Schlemmer, VP Technology, MK Trisal, President and CEO of GEMI Motors, Vivek Bhargava, VP Critical Business Processes and Greg Thompson, Director CAC Motors and India Technology were present on the occasion. |
| The ribbon cutting ceremony was followed by an Indian traditional Lamp Lighting Ceremony and unveiling of the plaque, marking the inauguration of the technology center by Mark Gliebe. The ceremony was also attended by the participants of the Six Sigma session from Faridabad and the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) training team of Tammy Randall, Certified Black Belt - LSS and Mike Logsdon Certified Black Belt - LSS. |
| The inauguration of the technology center was followed by an all employee meeting at the cafeteria where Mark addressed an audience consisting of the Hyderabad employees and the visiting Six Sigma trainees from Faridabad. Mark and Jon also engaged the teams in a session open for Q&As. |
| The visiting team also addressed a press conference with local newspapers and TV channels invited for the inauguration ceremony. The India Technology Center is situated at the heart of the Hyderabad city, on a small hill. The facility itself is a four story building with a cafeteria on the top floor. The technology center has a lab area, large conference room on ground floor and total seating capacity of about 120 engineers on the other floors. |
| The India technology team is an integral part of the engineering, IT & sourcing activities supporting the GE Commercial Motors’ CAC, Fan, ECM and Capacitor teams as well as the Marathon, Leeson and Lincoln teams. The team has also recently has begun expanding support to the Mechanical businesses. The IT team has been responsible for supporting the transition from GE and also the development of new applications for the business. |
